Patrick Hince Wins Scholarship Through National Auto Value Program
Eau Claire, Wis. – July 18, 2011 – Patrick Hince was one of 32 students nationally to receive a $1,000 scholarship from Auto Value.
Hince applied for the scholarship through the Eau Claire Auto Value parts store. He will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
Auto Value has awarded scholarships to employees and/or their children to assist in their post-high school education for the past 15 years. Since the scholarship program began, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been dedicated to helping employees and their families continue their education.
Students seeking a scholarship were required to write a 200-word essay on “What I hope to accomplish through my post high school graduation.” Applicants must have completed high school to be considered for the $1,000 scholarship, which will be paid directly to the recipient’s school of choice for the fall 2011 semester.
“Continuing education can be expensive and we don’t want anyone to choose attending school or not based on financial resources. That was the main reason why Auto Value created this scholarship program,” said Jim Meyers, owner of the Eau Claire Auto Value parts store. “We are proud of Patrick and happy that we could play a part in helping him continue his education.”
