Mills Auto Parts is Open for Business
New York Mills, Minn. – October 1, 2010 – Mills Auto Parts opened its doors in New York Mills on Friday, October 1st in the building that once housed Lakes Hearth & Home Center at 12 North Main Street. The store is owned by Wayne Schwartz and will operate as an affiliated member of the Auto Value parts stores marketing program.
Schwartz is a 30-year automotive industry veteran that recently decided the city of New York Mills deserves its own hometown auto parts store. “My goal is to create a business that our employees and community will be proud of,” said Schwartz. “We truly look forward to serving the workforce and residents of New York Mills.”
Mills Auto Parts will stock a wide variety of OE quality replacement parts with overnight inventory replenishment. Schwartz is excited about having “next day” access to a $10 million inventory of automotive, heavy duty, agricultural and performance parts from Automotive Parts Headquarters, a St. Cloud-based aftermarket auto parts supplies and store group, for any special order needs. Customers can also drop off engine heads, crankshafts and flywheels for complete machine shop services in St. Cloud.
Schwartz has hired his brother, Steve, to manage the store. Steve’s automotive experience includes 10-years working as a professional repair technician. Rena Walz, a local resident, will assist Steve at the parts counter and with administrative duties.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for October 14th. This event is open to the public with a complimentary lunch served by Mills Auto Parts. Other promotional activities include door prize drawings, in-store specials and free pumpkins given away to the first 50 people. Also, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place around noon.
Schwartz invites everyone to stop in to meet their staff and take a look at the new store. The business hours are 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. Their phone number is 218-385-2550.
