APH Receives 2012 AAIA Head of the Class Award
St. Cloud, Minn. — October 31, 2012 — The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has chosen Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a St. Cloud-based aftermarket auto parts distributor and store group, as the recipient of its 2012 Head of the Class Award in the warehouse distributor category. The award is administered by the AAIA Education Committee on behalf of the association, and was created to highlight and recognize companies that continually invest in employee education and training and to promote the value and benefit that this investment provides to the employees and their companies, and also the entire aftermarket industry.
“Congratulations goes to Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. for receiving a 2012 Head of the Class Award,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO. “The company’s dedication to providing exceptional professional development opportunities for its employees is commended. The variety of programs APH has put in place, from monthly training videos to an annual training and education conference demonstrates a strong commitment to improving employee knowledge and skills. Of particular note is APH’s success in collaborating with the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership and local universities to design specific APH curricula.”
APH was selected based on the education and training practices of the company, including what prompted the company to invest in training, the types of training accomplished, the initial goals, its experiences, results of the training and any future plans.
APH was recognized at AAIA’s Town Hall breakfast at AAPEX, Wednesday, October 31 at The Venetian in Las Vegas. They also received an award to display at their place of business and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Aftermarket Insider.
