Aaron Skarlupka Wins Scholarship Through National Auto Value Program
Antigo, Wis. – July 18, 2011 – Aaron Skarlupka was one of 32 students nationally to receive a $1,000 scholarship from Auto Value.
Skarlupka applied for the scholarship through Skarlupka Service of Antigo, an Auto Value certified service center. He will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
Auto Value has awarded scholarships to employees and/or their children to assist in their post-high school education for the past 15 years. Since the scholarship program began, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been dedicated to helping employees and their families continue their education.
Students seeking a scholarship were required to write a 200-word essay on “What I hope to accomplish through my post high school graduation.” Applicants must have completed high school to be considered for the $1,000 scholarship, which will be paid directly to the recipient’s school of choice for the fall 2011 semester.
“Continuing education can be expensive and we don’t want anyone to choose attending school or not based on financial resources. That was the main reason why Auto Value created this scholarship program,” said Steve Marx, manager of the Antigo Auto Value parts store. “We are proud of Aaron and happy that we could play a part in helping him continue his education.”
