Automotive Parts Headquarters Completes Acquisition and Merger of Two Aitkin Parts Stores

St. Cloud, Minn. – December 23, 2009 – Automotive Parts Headquarters, a St. Cloud-based automotive aftermarket distributor and store group, recently completed the acquisition and merger of the Aitkin Auto Value parts store and CARQUEST of Aitkin.  The newly merged parts store brings the total number of jobber stores owned and operated by Automotive Parts Headquarters to 72.

Automotive Parts Headquarters relocated the former independently owned Aitkin Auto Value parts store from 112 Minnesota Avenue N. to the CARQUEST building at 995 Second Street N.W.  The newly merged parts store is doing business as Aitkin Auto Value and consists of four full-time employees and one part-time employee.

“Both parts stores have been strong market leaders, serving do-it-yourself and professional installer customers in and around Aitkin with parts, supplies and service for a number of years,” said Corey Bartlett, president of Automotive Parts Headquarters.  “The newly merged store will enable us to increase our market share and strengthen the Auto Value name throughout the Aitkin area.”

The better serve customers, Automotive Parts Headquarters has increased the store’s inventory of nationally branded products by approximately 6,000 units.  Also, they will be bringing in equipment to mix automotive refinishes, resurface brake drums and rotors, and test alternators, starters and batteries.  Lastly, they will be extending store hours at the start of the spring season.
