Auto Value Parts Stores Opens New Location in Cook

Cook, Minn – April 23, 2012 – North Woods Auto Parts will open its doors in Cook on Friday, April 27 in the building once occupied by Lake Vermillion Trading Company at 321 U.S. Highway 53. The store is owned by Cook natives Bill and Laurie Nieters, and will operate as an affiliate of the national Auto Value parts stores chain.

The Nieters are confident a full-service parts store will be a great addition to their existing business, Bill’s Sled Shop. The snowmobile and ATV repair business opened last fall and is located directly behind the parts store. “Our goal is to provide the area with a more convenient option for their auto parts needs. We wanted to open a business in the community that local residents can depend on and be proud of,” said Bill Nieters.

Nieters’ son-in-law, Jeremy Scofield, will manage the parts store. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Orr and have two daughters, Merilee and Kaidence. Scofield has more than 20 years of automotive service background, most recently with a parts department at a local dealership. A delivery driver will be added to the staff to assist with courtesy deliveries to area businesses.

The Nieters have been working closely with Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a third generation Minnesota-based company that has been serving parts stores for more than 90 years, on stocking their store with the right mix of parts and accessories for automotive, agricultural and heavy-duty applications. For those hard-to-find parts, North Woods Auto Parts will be receiving an overnight delivery from APH’s distribution center in St. Cloud, which carries more than $11 million of inventory.

North Woods Auto Parts is confident their market-based inventory, convenient location and professionally merchandised showroom will provide customers with an outstanding shopping experience. Area residents are invited to join them for a grand opening celebration on Friday, June 8 to kick-off the Cook Timber Days weekend festival. The lunchtime event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony, in-store specials, door prizes, free food and refreshments.

Prior to the grand opening, the Nieters and Scofield invite the community to stop in and take a look at Auto Value’s product offering. Business hours will be from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The North Woods Auto Parts staff can be reached at 218-666-6100.
